Diaper Drama

The latest drama in our house has been dealing with Lyla's cloth diapers. We made the decision to go cloth based on environmental, health, and economic reasons, but for the past month we have been extremely close to throwing them all out the window. It all started when a few of her diapers started leaking...we found out that using "free and clear" detergent was the reason for that so we switched to the highly recommended Charlie's Soap which then broke Lyla out in the worst diaper rash we have ever seen. No amount of Desitin or A&D ointment could get rid of this monster. Finally after two weeks of wearing disposable diapers and switching to Country Save detergent Lyla is back in her cloth diapers. We also found out that you are not supposed to use Desitin or A&D with the type of diapers we have, so we started using Burt's Bees Diaper Cream which is GENIUS! Seriously, it cleared her diaper rash within a day. I highly recommend this stuff to all mommies out there.

What kind of cloth diapers are you using? We used cloth on both girls and really liked them!

Your daughter is beautiful! Thanks for sharing the blog with us.

At 3 months, we used cloth diapers and boudreaux butt paste but had to start using one non cloth diaper at night. But I think whatever works for your little one is the best choice. Good job on sticking with it and finding a good combination!
