New Hat

No, this is not part of Lyla's Halloween costume! I have been really excited to begin knitting Lyla something special. I never got around to making her a baby blanket like I wanted to when I was pregnant...so I thought I would do a hat since we got a cold front and I wanted to do something that wouldn't take me a long time. I found this beautiful yarn at Michael's and couldn't wait to get started, but something went very very wrong and it turned out looking like a tie-died Little Orphan Annie wig.
I guess I should take back that second skein of yarn and pick up something a bit less bulky and try again.

While rummaging through my knitting box, I found this pixie hat I made 5 years ago. It was my first knitting project! I of course picked a very difficult pattern for my first project, but overall it turned out okay. I originally planned on giving it as a gift, but there were too many imperfections so I stashed it away thinking someday we would have a little one who could wear it...it looks pretty darn cute on Miss L.
