We went to the Kite Festival today! I have been wanting to go for the past 5 years and we finally made it down there, of course, it was extra special to be able to take Lyla on our first time!
There were hundreds of kites painting the sky. Our favorite was an enormous inflated kite that had to have been over 50 feet long. It never got too high, but it was really neat to see it flying even 15 feet above the ground.
We bought Lyla a Buzz Lightyear kite at Target just for this event. We got it up pretty high until the wind died down and it got tangled up with a few other kites and then crashed to the ground.
We had a great time but we think that Lyla's favorite part was the bus ride there and back. She thought it was pretty cool to not have to ride in a car seat for the first time.
