Trust the baby

The first day we brought Lyla home from the hospital, our free spirited neighbor popped his head in to get a peek at our sweet pea. After a quick visit, the advice he left us with was “trust the baby.” At first, I totally blew off this advice…besides I had just popped a human being out of my body three days earlier…I was in no place to listen to the Yoda-esk words of our eccentric neighbor. But now after reading a dozen baby care books and hundreds of articles online (most of which contradict each other) I am beginning to understand what “trust the baby” means. So after several bouts of unnecessary fear, worry, and stress I have decided to make this my new mantra. She is after all a very wise little one…she’s only 12 weeks old and already meditating.
